How to prevent cavities in early childhood
Cavities are the result of a bacterial infection. Teeth children aged 9 or 10 months can be infected with bacteria. If it is not treated, the infection can cause tooth pain severe and require expensive dental treatment, according to Dr. Peter Domoto, head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Washington School of Dentistry.
To prevent cavities in early childhood, mothers can follow the six tips described by Dr. Peter Domoto following. Let's look together!
1. Mothers should reduce bacterial infection that occurs on themselves with more attention to dental health during prenatal and postnatal period.
2. Parents should use a damp cloth or toothbrush to clean the child's teeth.
3. Check your child's teeth regularly to see any white spots or brown calcareous that could be the beginning of tooth decay.
4. Bring your child to the dentist every time mothers find dental problems in children.
5. The first visit of a child to the dentist should be done on a first birthday, or six months after the first teeth grow.
6. Do not allow children to sleep while sucking on a bottle of milk.
Dental and mouth health is very important for growing children. Research shows that untreated cavities in children can affect a child's weight and their overall quality of life. So, do not underestimate the health of your child's teeth, before it becomes worse.
